Dancing: Ballet and Contemporary
I have absolutely loved dancing again and the studio which I am currently dancing at, Noam, is amazing and beautiful. The contemporary is a very different style to what I have been used to but it has been a great experience to learn it and do a lot more floor work than what I'm used to. The people I dance with are very welcoming and always push me because they all are extraordinarily talented.
I hadn't performed in a while and it was amazing to get the chance to dance in a show again. I danced at the end of the year show as well as Hercules.
I started ballet when I was about four years old, but when I moved to Peru I stopped for about one year. In 2019 I decided to start dancing again because it was, and still is, one of my favourite things to do. It allows you to express yourself when words won't go the distance and it allows you to break free from the real world for a while.

This reflection is one of the most difficult for me because it's expressing what I feel in dance class and when I dance but I dance to express myself when I can't do it in words. So putting those emotions into words makes no sense in my head. It's difficult to explain but in general, I guess the word is liberating because I get to try all these new things in a safe environment and push my body and I am absolutely mind blown by the things I've learnt to do what I didn't think I could do.
I couldn't be happier about dancing again. It is definitely a highlight of my week.
